William H. (Bill) Haney is active/lives in Pennsylvania, New Jersey. William Haney is known for painting, teaching.
Born in Elizabeth, New Jersey in 1950, William Haney received a B.F.A. degree from the University of Tampa in1973, and an M.F.A. from the University of Georgia in1975. While at Georgia, he received a stipend to teach drawing. In addition, during that time he exhibited in five national exhibitions including the United States Information Service and the American Art Series in Ankara, Turkey.
Upon completion of his education, he accepted a position at Carnegie Mellon University as an Instructor of Drawing and has continued to teach there since 1975.
He exhibited in over twenty-five national exhibitions since arriving at Carnegie-Mellon University, receiving awards in several : Award of Artistic Distinction, Mainstreams International, 1977; Purchase Award, American Drawings II, 1978; Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition, 1978; Purchase Award, Potsdam International, 1979; Jury Award, Spokan National,1979.
Other exhibitions include : Arizona National Painting Exhibition, 1978,1979; Butler Institute of American Art National Painting Exhibition, 1976, 1977, 1978. Works in public collections include Westinghouse Corporation; State University College, New York; Scarfone Artchitects, Saudi Arabia; Hermann Fine Art Musuem, Ohio; Portsmouth Center for the Arts, Virginia; Malone and Hyde Corporation, Tennessee; and American Steel Erectors, New Jersey
