Born in Holland. Dake traveled in Africa and the Orient before arriving in San Francisco in 1915. He was sent by the Dutch India government to do the decorative work in the Holland Bldg for the PPIE. At that time his father was the director of the Amsterdam Art Academy. The younger Dake was active in San Francisco until 1930. His rare oils are mostly small landscapes.
