Biography  
Frances Starr


Born in San Diego, CA on Aug. 9, 1906. Frances Rickey studied at the San Diego Academy of Fine Arts and with Eugene Devol, Ed Northridge, and Otto Schneider. She then worked for Northridge's commercial art company until her marriage in 1929 to Donald Starr, brother of artist Ed Starr. Most of her work was done prior to her marriage. Her fine art includes landscapes, scenes of Balboa Park, and figure studies in oil, charcoal, and pastel. Mrs. Starr died in Falbrook, CA on Feb. 28, 1995. Exh: San Diego FA Gallery, 1928.
