 (1728 - 1810)
Pietro (Bardellino) Bardellini was active/lived in Italy.  Pietro Bardellini is known for figure, religious painting.

Pietro (Bardellino) Bardellini

Pietro Bardellino was born in Naples in 1728.  He was a student of Francesco de Mura (1696-1782), whose influence becomes obvious in his early paintings.  However, Bardellino soon developed a more independent style, which is characterized by the use of nuanced colors, inspired by the painter Francesco Solimena. Pietro Bardellino painted alongside mythological images also Biblical scenes from the Old and New Testament.

Bardellino considered the tendencies of Neoclassicism rather critical.  From 1779 he taught at the Accademia di Disegno e di Pittura.  His oeuvre testifies to a high scenic quality and ingenuity.
