Ludwig Lange was a German architect, landscape and architecture draughtsman, who originally came from Darmstadt.  He studied in Göttingen and Munich, and he went on a number of study journeys to Greece.  Later, he taught at the new royal Gymnasium in Athens (Greece), and was named government building officer at the Royal Academy of Art in Munich.  As an artist he was primarily known for his Rhenish church lithographies.  The Museum of Fine Arts in Leipzig was built according to  his plans.

Ludwig Lange died in 1868 at the age of 60 in Munich.
