Biography  
Edward Okun


Edward Okun started his studies at the Warsaw Drawing School then continued his education at the Academy of Cracow, in Munich and Paris.  Okun settled in Rome and took many trips to the Italian cities of Florence, Sorrento, Amalfi and the island of Capri.

After his return to Poland in 1921, he took a professorship at the Warsaw Academy (1925-1930).  After his mythical landscapes and ornamental portraits full of symbolic references, Okun is recognized as one of the outstanding exponents of the Polish Secession.
