Biography from RoGallery.com
Gisela Isabella Fabian is having her first solo show of naive paintings at her own Fabian Gallery. This self taught artist depicts an enchanting fantasy world with each of her colorful, eyefilling and minutely detailed canvases. Whether she is presenting a scene in her own bedroom, a regatta at Martha's Vineyard, an imaginary wedding or a fantasy depiction of New York harbor, she manages to include a staggering assortment of pictorial images, all meticulously rendered in vivid, beautifully shaded color. Water is painted in neat little waves, clouds are all fluffy cotton balls and trees in the foreground have every tiny leaf painstakingly delineated. The artist overlooks nothing and the smallest detail often proves to be humorous and delightful. New York Fantasy involves an entire panorama with Manhattan's skyscrapers, the Statue of Liberty, the Circle Line boat, bridges and cars, fishermen, mermaids, and as though that weren't enough, there is also a view of the Palisades Amusement Park complete with ferris wheel and cyclone. It is great fun. The artist's sense of color, design and humor make this a must see show.
