Biography
Luis Sahagun

He began his studies in drawing and painting with the maestro José Vizcarra in Guadalajara and concluded them at the Free Academy of the Nude and in the Circle of Fine Arts in Rome. He returned to Mexico in 1932. In 1939 he founded the Círculo de Bellas Artes and organized a gallery. He taught painting and drawing for 30 years. Sahagun said of himself: "In the composition I approach the Barbizonians, who defined it as what we imagine, after having taken as much as possible of the exterior things." The composition, like the form, is intuitive in its origin and is part of us. " Consulted source: ÁLVAREZ, José Rogelio et ál. Encyclopedia of Mexico. Volume 12. Mexico.
