Biography from Mehlis

Fritz Wagner was born in 1896.  He was a genre painter, and student of Karl Roth and Robert Seitz in Munich.  He was influenced by Hiasl Maier-Erding.  Fritz Wagner was active in Munich and Frauenchiemsee.

Wagner went on study trips to Italy, Hungary, and Romania.  He drew inspiration from Max Gaisser (1857-1922) and his Dutch interiors, and made monk portraits in the manner of Eduard von Grützner (1846-1925).  Wagner was a member of the National Association of visual Artists of Germany.

Dt genre painter (1896 Munich and 1939 Munich), student of Karl Roth and Robert Seitz in Munich, influenced by Hiasl Maier-Erding, went on study trips to Italy, Hungary and Romania, leaned back in his Dutch interiors to Max Gaisser (1857 -1922 on) and made ??monk portraits in the manner of Eduard von Grützner (1846-1925), member of the National Association of visual Artists of Germany, active in Munich and Frauenchiemsee, source: Thieme-Becker, Bruckmann "Munich school of Painters" and Dressler.
