Biography from The Israel Museum, Jerusalem

Farid Abu Shakra, painter, born 1963, Umm el-Fahm. Brother to Said and Waled Abu Shakra, cousin of Assim Abu Shakra.

Published poetry books in Arabic and Hebrew. Also works as an interior designer and co-manager of the art gallery he constructed with his brothers in Umm El-Fahm.

Education
1984-88 Kalisher School, Tel Aviv.

Teaching
Art, Jaffa. Art Inspector for the Arabic sector.

Awards And Prizes
1986 The America-Israel Cultural Foundation Sharett Fund Scholarship
2006 Encouragement of the Arts Prize, Ministry of Science, Culture and Sport
