Hella Jacobs was active/lived in Germany.  Hella Jacobs is known for abstract painting.

Hella Jacobs

German painter and graphic artist, Hella Jacobs studied at Hamburg and Altona arts schools from 1924 to 1926, did study trips to Italy and Paris and was friends with K. Kluth.  Jacobs's work was classified as degenerate by the National Socialists.  In 1943 the bigger part of her oeuvre burned.  Most of Jacobs's highly expressive works show people on the margins of society or thematize human passions.
