Lucile died at the age of 89 on 11/18/98 in Las Vegas.  She was known in Las Vegas as one of the founders of the Las Vegas Art League.  She was devoted as an art teacher and would board the "bookmobile" to travel to remote schools in Nevada and teach art, she did this for many years.  An elementary school in Las Vegas was named the Lucile Spire Bruner elementary school in her honor, and she was given an honorary PHD by University of Las Vegas.

Born Chautauqua County, Sept. 6, 1909; died Las Vegas, NV, Nov. 18, 1998. Painter, specialized in watercolors. Graphic artist. Teacher. Lived in Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, and Nevada. Known for her landscapes of western states. Living in Las Vegas in 1995.
