“Joy Cain will Demonstrate Technique to Lodi Art Club,” per Lodi News Sentinel, November 18, 1949, page 2 and article states “Sacramento artist and exponent of egg-tempera painting … Mrs. Cain is a graduate of the University of New Mexico. .. She has studied under Dong Kingman and Millard Sheets … She has held one-man shows throughout the United States, one recently at the E. born Crocker Art Gallery… The artist is a member of the San Francisco Women Artists Association, the Northern California Artists, and is an instructor in the art section of the Tuesday Woman’s Club of Sacramento.”
