Frances Marie Weeks Hafermehl (Mrs. Louis Hafermehl) was born November 22, 1907 in Kansas. Her family lived in Smoky View in Saline County in 1910 and in Assaria in 1930. Studied at Bethany College, Lindsborg, Kansas from 1937-46 as a pupil of Birger Sandzén. Taught at Independence Community College in 1941-42. Married Louis Hafermehl, another Kansas artist, in 1947 and lived in Manhattan and Seattle, WA.
