Dora Atwater Millikin grew up in Little Compton, Rhode Island and
attended the Stoneleigh-Burnham School in Greenfield, MA graduating
with the Senior Art Prize and went on to earn her Bachelor's of Fine
Arts in Painting, Drawing and Art History from Newcomb College, Tulane
University in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Seeking an intensive and
structured academic art program, Ms. Millikin enrolled as a full time
student at the Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts (Old Lyme,
Connecticut), graduating in May of 2002 with a Bachelor's of Fine Arts
in Painting where she continues her studies today through regular peer
Influenced by early American Modernism,
Millikin's subject of coastal New England scenery has an emphasis on
the gritty, industrial aspects of the landscape, the ordinary and the

Her membership list includes the Providence Art Club, the Lyme Art

Little Compton Historical Society, and the Tiverton Arts Council.
Dora Atwater Millikin maintains a studio in Westport Point, Massachusetts.
