George Bain Collins

George Bain Collins was active/lived in California, Missouri, Delaware.  George Collins is known for Mission and Landscape Painting.

George Bain Collins

George Bain Collins was born in Milford, DE on Jan. 2, 1834.  Collins and his family lived in Missouri until 1874.  They then made the overland trek to California and settled in San Francisco into a home at 432 Hill Street.  While supporting his family as a sign and carriage painter, in his leisure he painted mission scenes and landscapes of Mt Shasta and Yosemite.  He died in San Francisco on Nov. 23, 1905.
