Charles R. Jacobson was born in Chicago where he also received his arts education. In 1944 he moved to Miami, FL, where he spent most of the rest of his life. He also worked in the Caribbean and Mexico, from where he brought thousands of studies that were later adapted for his work throughout the United States. Probably his most famous work, outside his paintings, are the copper column panels for the Sheraton Bel Harbour (originally The Americana) Hotel in South Beach, FL. His paintings are in a number of galleries, museums, and private collections.
