A proponent of decorative objects, Susan Point is from Coast Salish, Alaska, and her heritage is Coast Salish Native American culture. However, she knew very little about the ways of her people and has done much research to reflect carefully the Salish traditions. One of her inspirations for her cylindrical objects are the tools, called spinning whorls, used by the people to make clothing.
