After attending Parsons School of Design and spending six years freelance illustrating and designing in New York City, she migrated to upper New York State and then Western Massachusetts to be around horses, country, and help create an innovative arts center. It was during these years she showed at the Society of Illustrators in New York City, Saratoga, NY, Middleburg, VA, as well as opening the International Museum of the Horse at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, KY with a one-person show. She also traveled to several three day events documenting her experiences through art for Sports Illustrated Magazine.
Jean's work includes paintings, drawings, and prints in all media, and since 1990, bronzes. Although best known for her knowledge of equestrian sports, all of her work is noted for its motion and freedom within an accurate understanding of form. She and her husband, Don, live and ride dressage in Santa Fe, NM.
