Stan Natchez

A member of the Shoshoni/Paiute Indian tribes, Stan Natchez is a painter, writer, dancer and teacher.  He grew up in the Los Angeles area with the cultural and philosophical influence of urban living and with an intellectual family atmosphere where his father, a scholar, wrote a book on the connections between Jungain and Native American symbolism.  Inspired by his family to focus on education, Stan Natchez has said that 'in a white man's world, if you want to succeed, you go to college'.  He earned a B.S. degree from the University of Southern California and then became a teacher, serving as Humanities Department Chair at the Orme School in Arizona and teaching art in several public schools.   Currently (2010) he i  ...  Displaying 750 of 4380 characters.
