From Alberta, Canada, Shannon Luyendyk is focused on western subjects using watercolor, graphite oil, and acrylic. She became interested in art in grade school and has become an award-winning artist, earning 1st in class/1st in section in 2000 at the Calgary Exhibition and Stampede.

Shannon Luyendyk is a native Albertan who lives in Cochrane, AB.  Her inspiration comes from her love of horses, life, and pride in western heritage.  Shannon has exhibited several pencil drawings at the Calgary Stampede, has won many awards including the Master’s Award and has been juried into the Calgary Stampede Art Auction and Art Gallery, and the C.M. Russell Art Auction in 2001, 2003, and 2010.

Her chuckwagon piece of the late Richard Cosgrave is in the BP Amoco’s corporate collection and was used to commemorate Amoco’s 50th Anniversary.  In 2015 she was selected to design the Calgary Stampede Western Showcase pin and in 2016 the Extreme Cowboy advertising artwork.
