The recipient of numerous grants and awards, McGuire teaches printmaking in Alaska, and has successfully exhibited her work in group, solo, and juried shows. Most of her work she creates in her studio during the winter, and spends her summers fishing commercially.

Examples of her work are included in the book 'Alaska's Copper River', by Riki Ott (1998).
