Born in Los Angeles, CA on Nov. 29, 1900, Evans was a student of Sam Hyde Harris during the 1930s and 1940s. Both married to others, their love affair was well known. Her work includes desert landscapes similar to those by Harris (some say that she signed many of his canvases to hide their affair.)
A lifelong resident of her native city, she died there on Jan. 8, 1969.
During the latter part of her life she was the wife of Albert S. Sednaouiy.
