He searched for opportunities in Florida, Chicago Illinois, New York and finally Los Angeles, California. He preferred to live in small towns and lived in Chino, California with his wife Guillermina and three children Rosario, Gabriela, and Alberto. After raising his children, for a period of time, he moved back to Mexico, but returned to the USA three years later and lived in Cottonwood Arizona until his death.
He was a very versatile artist and is well known for his brilliant colors in subjects such as bullfights, landscapes, seascapes, westerns, still lives and murals using mostly acrylics and oils. His technique changed throughout the years and his focus was placed painting westerns and desert scenes in oils applying layers of color in a technique created by him that made the colors seem transparent.
