Biography
J.C. Pace

Biography from the Archives of askART

J. C. Pace, III was born in Fort Worth, Texas in 1977. Pace grew up with a great love for being in a natural landscape of Texas and Wyoming. He spent his summers working on a cattle ranch in southern Wyoming, living in a bunkhouse, learning day-to-day ranch operations and working with the cattle. During this time he developed an ever-increasing love for the nature around him and an interest in history.

Pace studied psychology and anthropology at Southern Methodist University where he received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in 2000. While at SMU he took several studio and art history classes that inspired him to pursue a personal journey to create his own art.

Pace has spent the past six years on a quest to learn and absorb all he can about the creative process and in pursuit of his goal as an artist to fill a void by creating sculptures that are unique and different and not just versions of what has already been done. He is currently working on monumental pieces in bronze that are inspired by his desire to capture in shape and form his passion for nature and history.

Pace's other passions are his many friendships, flying, fly fishing and travel in pursuit of the subject matter that inspired his art. He has a great sense of adventure that is reflected in his work and in his individual pursuit of creativity.

Pace's works are in private collections across the United States and are currently being shown in galleries in Saratoga and Jackson Hole, Wyoming; Aspen, Colorado; and Park City, Utah. He has a public sculpture in Santa Fe, New Mexico commissioned by the Montecristi Custom Hat Works Company.
