QUOTES ABOUT ARTIST

"Florence Wroldsen's paintings for the most part are done with a cool palette and have a sense of quiet thoughtfulness about them. Painting of 'A Young Girl' epitomizes this quality of depth which the artist captures so well." (Betsy Polier, "The New York East", New York City)

"Florence Wroldsen se complait dans une poetique Grisalle." (Ande Francois, New York City)

"An exhibit of Florence Wroldsen's vibrant watercolors and pensive oil paintings will be on display at the Morton Plant Hospital through June 25. A contemporary realist, the show includes flower studies in water color and such prize winning oil paintings as 'Back Stage Exit' - 'Fair Lady With A Raven' and 'Girl With A Dove.' The 40 works in the show are on display in the Hospital Art Galleries." ("St. Petersburg Times", Tuesday, June 13, 1978)

"Florence Wroldsen has a long and impressive list of exhibitions and awards from the New York City area. She is a life member of both the Art Students League and the National Art League. Florence has chose an essentially feminine world and a feeling of contemplation permeates her paintings of women - young ladies of composed manner and dignity of bearing. Subject, color, and composition unite in studies that make ordinary scenes memorable. Her watercolors show an interesting preoccupation with emotive values of flower painting, and landscapes are done with a cool pallette and gentling touch. Florence works in oil, acrylic, watercolor, and collage." (Marilyn McClurg, Artist Market Gallery, Clearwater, Florida, 1983)
