Jacob Getlar Smith, a distinguished member of the National Advisory Council since 1955, passed from this life on October 28th, 1958. Nationally renowned for his paintings and scholarly writings about art and artists, as contributing editor and feature writer for American Artist Magazine, he also taught art in art schools, colleges and art associations throughout the United States and Mexico.
