John J Jr Floherty was active/lived in New York.  John Floherty is known for illustration, sports genre, cartoons.

John Floherty

An illustrator, commercial artist, cartoonist and painter, John Floherty, Jr. studied at Columbia University, the Art Students League with George Bridgman, and at the Grand Central School of Art with Harvey Dunn. He was a member of the Society of Illustrators and had studios in New York City and Northport, Long Island.

Among his works were "Where Away", the 1945 cover for the "G.I. Sketchbook", and illustrations for U.S. Coast Guard publications including their recruiting posters. He was also a combat artist at Iwo Jima and Okinawa during World War II.
