Original Serigraph by David Hammons
Phyllis A. Frew (07/12/2006)
I would like to know if the serigraph titled #15 Hedge Roses could be by the New York artist listed in Ask Art. The typed note on the back of the frame says, "An original signed work of art by one of California's creative young talents." It goes on to tell about the process of creating a serigraph. The other sticker on the back is from Catalpa Fine Arts, Inc. from N.Y.C. and lists the title of the work, artist and frame No. There is no date. This was acquired at an estate auction which had various nicely framed works of art and reproductions. Any info would be appreciated until I can find an appraisor who is familiar with his earlier works. Thank you. Phyllis
