I am in possession of photos, letters and paintings by Keller from the estate of his wife's (Nell Keller) niece.

fine portrait of Nance O'Neil
sanford paganucci (09/04/2001)
I have a fine print portrait/theatre poster, by Edgar Martin Keller, of actress Nance O'Neil advertising her portrayal of Lady Macbeth in a 1906 performance. The portrait is in its original glassed frame. The glass, itself, is antique, displaying the ripples and uneven suface one might expect from antique glass. The print is over-written in black ink with an extensive tome in effusive praise of Ms. O'Neil. The writing begins: "To my beloved poet, Nance O'Neil...", and continues for approximately 100 words. The writing is signed and dated, "1906". The signature is legible but I cannot quite make it out. It will be greatly appreciated if someone would offer some more information about this piece, particularly about how its value can be ascertained. Please feel free to contact me directly via my email address. In advance, many thanks!

Keller illustrated the children's book "Yama Yama Land - Where Everything is Different" by Grace Duffie Boylan. This fantasy of traveling to the center of the earth in the aftermath of the San Francisco earthquake was published by The Reilly & Britton Co., Chicago. There is no publication date, but the copyright (English, M. Whitmark & Sons., Stationers Hall, London) is 1909. I have a copy with the very colorful illustrations intact, but missing the cover.

Keller's work with the "M. Whitmark & Sons Co." was mainly in the illustration of sheet misic covers in the "Tin Pan Alley" days. There are many examples of his work on the web. Many of his covers were for minstral toons known as "coon songs"
