Mrs. E.B. DuffeyCindy Crittenden
I acquired a piece of art by Mrs. E.B. Duffey. Her signature is on one side of the painting and Thom Lamb on the other side of the painting. A plate on the painting says, "A Landscape Study by Thomas Lamb." On the back is a sticker that says," Thomas B. Lamb, 156 Fifth Ave. New York, New York." If anyone can share additional information, I would appreciate. Thank You.

I found information on this artist which leads me to believe her work is important to American art. She was voted Associate Academician at the Pensylvania Academy of fine Arts by her peers which was not easy for a woman of that period. Not sure if she was the first or not. She was very important in the Women's right movement and wrote many books and newspaper articles still in circulation even today. She signed some of her paintings with the prefix Mrs. I have a very well excuted still life of a can with raspberries signed Mrs. E. B. Duffey. In order for her to get these achievements during her time she had to be equal or better than most well known male painters of her time.
