E Dix apraisers Peter Becker
The best authority on Eulabee's miniatures died many years ago.
However, the American Museum for Women in the Arts has the majority of her miniatures and may know of some one. The Met in NYC also has several including the miniature of Phillip Dix Becker as an infant. I delivered it personally to them as part of Eulabee's wishes and my late mothers promise that it would go to the met. Let me know if I can help.
Lost Minatures by Eulabee DixPeter Becker
As her grandson, I feel it is worth trying to find as many of the lost minatures of Eulabee Dix as possible. Some may have been destroyed, like the ones of Maureen O'Hara's children, others such as those done in England pre WWII may have been destroyed by the warand many may be (I hope) in private collections where the holder does not wish to reveal their presence.
Since most of the lost ones are listed in JoAnne Ridley's excellent book on Eulabee, I would encourage those of you who are fans of Eulabee to also aspread the word and we eill see how many we can find.
