Frank Swift ChaseTish Manley
Frank Swift Chase was hired by the Davey Tree Expert Company of Kent, Ohio to paint landscapes from the locales of their work. They worked on the trees of many prominent people of the time, including Rockefeller, Edison, Stetson, Firestone, as well as the US Capitol and Sweet Briar College. The paintings were done from 1912 to 1931. The paintings were used in magazine advertisements for Davey Tree, many of which can now be found on eBay.
The paintings were later distributed to family members, some are unaccounted for.
I am the great granddaughter of John Davey, the founder of the Davey Tree Company.
