need to know more about harold Putnam Brownediego navarro
Harold lived in Latin America and painted landscapes from the Andes. Possibly there are many paintings from this period which I believe is around 1920. Does anyone have a painting from him from this era?

I think it is an original. How can I find out?
George Elmer BrowneJanis Mathews
There are two Browne paintings in the Cowan Collection exhibited in the Parthenon in Nashville: Evening in Holland, 1904, and Night on the Banks, undated. Here are some excerpts from the Collection's catalog: "To George E. Browne all thing American were swollen by an elemental force that was not to be found in any other country...Born in Gloucester, MA, Browne was perhaps best known in the Boston area as an illustrator for the popular press. He studied at the Bostom Museum of Fine Arts School and the Cowles Art School. The Academie Julian in Paris, which he attended in 1900, provided (him) with little more than a post-graduate refresher, so self-assured was he in the mastery of composition, drawing and technique." There is more about him in the Catalog.

I have two works by Browne. One is a water color the other an oil. I am interested in learning more about him and his career.
Geo Elmer Browne painting of NY Harbor6/13/2006
It can be viewed in NYC. It is a rare example of New York Harbor at the turn of the century in winter.
I am writing an article for future publication on George Elmer Browne.I would appreciate any biographical info you might have on him. I'd especially be interested in any images that I might borrow to be included in the piece(proper credit would be given to the donor of course)
Thanks for your help
