I have a picture signed by George Sotter of the Grand Canyon. I cannot find any information as to whether or not he painted anything other than scenes of the Bucks County area. Does anyone have any information?
george sottermary ellen crum
george was a cousin of my mother in pittsburgh, pa. his grandmother was very influential in encouraging his artistic talents when he was young. the family has many of his early oil painting that he would give to his grandmother but of course the family wants to keep the paintings in the family & are not interested in selling at this time. there is a church here in the shadyside section of pittsburgh that is full of his beautiful stained glass windows called sacred heart church. worth the trip to look at. he also has a painting at carnegie museum of art in room seven of catherdral of learning at university of pittsburgh in oakland section of pittsburgh. george became famous as a painter after moving to bucks county so it's nice to have his early stuff in the family.good luck
