Harvey BallAmy Benoit
I am a teacher in the city of Worcester as well as a life-long resident of Worcester and have always loved hearing about Harvey Ball. I am looking for information about him that isn't currently listed on Wikipedia, Google and the like.
For instance, I know that he grew up on the corner of Hyland and Park Ave, where the Price Chopper is presently standing and that his father was a candy salesman. but I'd like to know more. If you have any information about his formative years would you please forward.
As part of the city's curricula, I like to provide my students with facts about important people from their city. Talking about Harvey's accomplishments and life will help the kids connect.
H. Ball landscape paintingCathyt
I have a landscape painting with a signature H. Ball.
Could anyone tell me how I could prove this is a painting by Harvey Ball or someone else? I do have a photo of the painting that I could attach.
Harvey knew I loved rainbows and that I was always looking up at the sky. The day he passed away I was in Washington state. Earlier in the day I had passed a store with a "smiley" on the sign. I smiled as I thought of Harvey and reminded myself to send him a get well card as my best friend Sandra wrote me that he wasn't feeling well. Later as I was coming out of the gardens near the Hiram Chittenden Locks I looked up into the sky and there was an enormous full rainbow that was spectacular. Later when I got home I had a message from my friend Sandra notifing me that Harvey was no longer with us. I like to think it was his way of telling me good-bye. He was a very special man and I will never forget his gentleness or kindness. He was truly an angel who walked on this earth. Harvey I miss you!!!!!
