Bob K. (10/27/2007)
The front and back covers of this issue, as well as several inside pages, have examples of Terpning's work. All are in color. The front cover, 'The Legend of Geronimo,' was commissioned by the magazine and was one of the artist's entries in the 1986 Cowboy Artists of America show. Back cover, 'Entering Apache Stronghold.' Inside pages: 'Plunder from Sonora,' quarter page. 'Second Geronimo Campaign,' 2-page spread. The Contents page also has a thumbnail-size color photograph of Terpning.

I wonder if anyone knows if the great artist Howard Terpning
Bob Clayton (04/11/2007)
I would love to know if anyone knows if the great artist Howard Terpning uses the traditional techniques of toning, underpainting, glazing and scumbling? Many of his paintings look like they use alla prima technique. I am an aspiring art student and I love Mr. Terpning's style. Can anyone help me?
