Sadly Uncle Jack passed away last night. He was bigger than life, an amazing artist and a true cowboy, he will be missed greatly.

Mr Swanson was one of California artist in The Lizbeth Gallery between 1985 and 1993, when Los Olivos Ca was a little art Mecca. He is one of the few true Western Artist that painted plein air as much as he could and also had a horse stall in his art studio. Jack studied in his early years with Donald Teige. Jack paints the Vaquero California History accurately. He is a Member of the prestigious Cowboy Artists of America. He likes to sell his own art as he paints and Sculpts larger pieces and the enjoyment of meeting the client was always a great interest to him. He was friends with movie stars and politicians and never liked to disclose their names as to keep his art true to selling itself. His art is in Museums and fine art collections of collectors of the California History and western art. He published some editions of prints. It was an honor to sell his art for him. He lived much of the western lifestyle that he painted and he and his wife Sally were delightful to work with. Lizbeth Kyle-Savage
My friend Jack SwansonJodi Sherman
Hi, my name is Jodi and Jack has been my friend for a long time! He is truly a gentleman and the kindest, sweetest, most caring man I have ever met! I call him my cowboy. Jack appeared by my side when I gave a So Long till you come home party for my 18 year old son who was leaving for the Army in two days. Knowing how worried and heartbroken I was over Donald leaving, Jack took me aside and comforted me with words only he and I know. He lightend my heart that day and I will never forget the kind , thoughtful man he was that day when my heart was breaking, Jack I will always remember all the kindness you have shown me thru the years! I love you my cowboy!

J.N. Swanson painter/sculptor of the true west of today and yesterday. He knows the subject from being there. He paints and sculpts from knowledge of his subjects, not from books or photos. His knowledge of the horse is unsurpassed in any arena of art. Congratulations to those wise collectors of his works.
