Joe Jones Post Office mural
BarBara Wright (12/01/2010)
We are fortunate in our town to have two pieces of art work by Joe Jones. We have the mural, "Turning the Corner" in our post office as a mural and the other is a framed print titled "Gray and Gold" which hangs in a place of business in our community.

If anyone has knowledge about where (i.e., what gallery or galleries) Joe Jones exhibited his Alaska paintings, I would greatly appreciate some information.

U am a relative of Joe Jones. I have a painting that was given to my parents by his mother and would like to find out if it is an original or copy. It has never been out of the frame. It has his signature and 2 dates which are the same.

No I but I know of a magnolia that is relatively large of the same period. Actually looks more like Benton.

We are interested in seeing Joe Jones socialist-realist work. We own a large painting of some miners on strike, painted during his radical communist period, dated 1937. It hung for many years in southern Illinois United Mine Workers HQ, before it was closed. Does anyone know of other pieces from that period?
