I was not aware that Karl Albert left this world on March 11, 2007. His paintings have been beautiful and inspiring, The one I purchased long ago was part of the Ahmanson Museum Collection and it hangs in our home where everyone loves it .
America has lost a most talented and
creative artist .

I am saddened to hear of the death of Karl Albert. I communicated with him and his daughter by email several times and they were very kind. I am looking into aquiring my first Karl Albert painting sometime soon, hopefully. I have several paintings by Karl's long time friend Darwin Duncan and one sketch but their friend Sam Hyde Harris ... I hope they are all together up in heaven, painting away at the beauty found there !

It was my good fortune to have my paintings displayed in the Desert Southwest Gallery, Palm Desert, CA. in 1968 It was a thrill to actually meet THE Karl Albert there.
Painting of our fishing river Regina West
About 40 years ago, through Robert's Gallery in Santa Fe, N.M., we contacted Karl Albert to request that he do a painting from a photo. The subject was a landscape of the Green River outside of Daniel, Wy. We received a letter, which I still have, telling us he knew where we took the picture. He said he spent some of his youth in Daniel. The lovely painting graces our dining room wall. We also have three of his beautiful California dessert paintings. I feel a connection with him as he was born in Halstead, Ks. just outside of Wichita

In my previous e-mail I didn''t realize I had a signature of Mr. Albert. He attended my Father''s funeral in Feb. of 1954 in Inglewood Ca. He signed the Memorial Book for Lynn R. Youngman whom I think he met thru James B. Lansing in Los Angeles, Ca. Just a footnote. Thanks,Joyce
I have a Karl Albert painting purchased by my father who was a friend of his in the 1950s. He bought the painting as a 25th anniversary present for my mother.I would like to know if Mr. Albert could remember my Dad. I think he knew him thru the company he wored for in L.A., Altec Lansing Sound.
Paintings by this great masterDiane & Ugo Punteri
I am always interested in talking to anyone who has known my dad Karl Albert. We have recently moved back to the States from Tuscany, Italy, after 10 years living there. He is with us and still of sound and very sharp mind. We believe he is the greatest atmosperic plein air painter of all time and invite any and all questions. We are working on a book and ask for any and all information you might have on this great artist!
I'm grateful to know Mr. AlbertMarilyn Rose
I have the good fortune to have recently met this excellent artist, who lives in my community. Karl is 94 but he still has a sharp eye and mind, and he loves to give me and my friends advice on improving our paintings. He says he feels very fortunate to have worked with Edgar Payne and Sam Hyde Harris. Apart from the fact that he is a living link to the legendary plein air painters of the last century, Karl is a delightful man with a twinkle in his eye and a friendly smile, and I feel blessed to know him.
