Earlier etching

I have an earlier etching of Kathe Kollwitz that I bought in 1967. Does anyone know what galleries are handling her work? Thanks.

Kathe Kollwitz

Kaethe Kollwitz is such a great artist that it is hard to know where to begin to praise her work! Look at her rendering of the hands of the mother in "Mutter mit Kind." How sensitive she was to a mother's love. It is so finely exhibited in the rendering of the large, strong hands, that have worked so hard for her family and the little boy she holds so securely and lovingly.

Dr. Kollwitz - husband of Kaethe
Peter E. Engler (12/13/2006)
I was born in Berlin, Germany in 1934. It was Dr. Kollwitz, the husband of Kaethe who brought me into this world. We are Jewish. When Dr. K. diagnosed my mom as pregnant he advised her to terminate the pregnancy. 1934 was not a good year for Jews in Germany. My mom was, of course, upset and weeping when she happened to run into Kaethe on her way out of the doctor's office. She related her story to Kaethe who subsequently presented my mom with a signed copy of one of her few happier pictures of Mother with Child ( Mutter mit Kind). We have the sketch in our living room. I like the work of Kathe Kollwitz but I think this is not a solution to show misery without action. That's why I stay sceptical in front of the possibility for her work to make people reacting for a better life today...
