Manuel Acostas. lewis hill
I knew him in el paso and he gave me a signed worker in a wheel barrel , he signed it in pencil. a wonderful man.
There is no artist of greater importance in the history of the Chicano art movement in America.
I am sure that some may disagree.
Let us not forget Manuel Acosta for his art.
I am currently researching mexican art with a focus on Manuel acosta. Looking for information that might be useful in a biographical sketch of him.
transfer on a plateshirley
I came across a repro of a panel from the mural he painted for the First National Bank in Las Cruces in 1962. It looks like a transfer ? onto a black rectangle plate. I'm curious if many of "these" are out there or if this is a piece a gallery might like to have?
missing paintingAARON SCHMIDT
The subject of a painting is searching for this piece, that was lent to Manuel Acosta for an exhibit. The painting was a young man with a cowboy hat, red shirt, leaning up against a stall. please contact me if you know or have known the where-abouts of this piece. thankyou.
The work and life of Mr. Acosta was unbelievable. I was and still am one of the lucky ones who had a chance to know and meet this great man. I enjoy reading these little comments to know that his work still lives on in homes everywhere.
