My husband was given an 8x10 painting that was purchased in Sausalito. The Cucaro signature is on the right. It has no title. It has a yellow background and what looks like shadow of a person holding some potted plants with stems growing out of them. There are 4 pots pictured and squiggly lines through out the picture. It has some squiggly lines around it. Any info is appreciated.

A friend bought an orginal from Cucaro back in the 1950's...It's a painting of what appears to be somewhere in Italy...a bridge...with a domed cathedral behind..and what appears to be like the colluseum on the right. Funny, but she only paid $15 for the painting..with Cucarao signed on the right...can you tell me about this?

I was acquainted with Pat in the early 90's. I was in my early twenties and had ended up in Sausalito (where I still live).
He was hanging out across from the Venice Deli selling as many of his painted rulers as he could. I fetched egg yolk for him to mix with paint on one occasion. I have a dozen paper plates he painted and signed. And I have two 10"x14" acrlics of people on a beaches. He was a neat guy. I'd never sell my stuff.

Hello all. I recently inherited an original Cucaro painting. I believe it is a street scene in Paris. My folks bought (?) it in the early 1950's. I'm curious about the painting. I'd be happy to send a photograph of it to anyone who is interested. Thanks!

In response to michele jacobs inguiry dated 2/3/07. while moving I unearthed some art from the closet. I also have a painting titled "people" which I have had since the late 70's. It has the date 1959 written on it and the name of a possible previous owner. The colors are grey, white and black!

Does anyone know about Pascal Cucaro's earlier painting titled "The People", people congregated under the sunset. It's crimson red. My mother bought it in a gallery in San Fran in 1970 but can't remember the name of the gallery.
I came from a aution at Ohio State University that had a Cucaro piece titled "Athens". I recognized the name of the artist as I bought a portrait by him in Palm Springs, CA in April of 2000. It's an 8"by10" 'martianistic' profile of a name with an irregular shaped head, with a red collar. Any one know anything about it?
Cucaro paintings from HawaiiMichelle Baggett
If you have any info about Cucaro in Hawaii I would appreciate it. I have several paintings I purchased there over 20 years ago. One painting is of eight horses running free range. I often wonder if the painting was done on the Big Island on the Parker Ranch.
Help w/ a Cucaro paintingMikhail Gill
Could someone help me with a Cucaro that I picked up. It's approx 1.5x24 in and has 19 multied coloured horseman on it. Any help would be great
RE: MOLLY BROWN (02/20/2005)
Cucaro is noted for having "GHOST-PAINTERS". I was lucky enough to part with a 3-piece set at online auction. Most dealers won't touch him. VERY PROLIFIC.
I have a big (54"x35") oil by Cucaro. The story goes that my uncle was at the Iron Pot in the late 50's and purchased this huge painting for the cost of dinner. He proceeded to roll it up and bring it down the coast to LA in his convertible. My grandfather's business was framing fine art (among other things) and he put it in a beautiful frame. It's been in the family all these years. It is a picture of a street in San Francisco, complete with a trolley and a "chinese looking" building, as well as a lady walking wind-blown.
I have been looking to find as much information as possible to do a book on Cucaro, IM looking for entries of art that others would like to share from their collections. Any stories, pictures of your art would be appreciated.
The Artist: Pascal Cucaro S.F.judymann
please any current information on Pascal Cucaro is most appreciated.. I find that I am really drawn to him, his art and want to know more...
Pascal’s old stomping ground Mario Cannizaro Jr.
My father was the original owner of the Iron Pot. He still to this day tells me about all of the artists who would come in after dinner had ended to display their art. Of all of the artists he named, the one he spoke of the most was Pascal Cucaro. My father always called him Pat. He would tell me how he was so meticulous of how his paintings were displayed for sale. How diligent he was to create more exciting pieces. And how both him and Ferguson (Fergy my father called her) would both be they’re displaying art and enjoying the atmosphere. My father said of Pat, “he was a good fun character and his art was very popular”. Pat’s work is a real part of San Francisco history.
