Theresa (11/04/2014)
Does anyone know the name of the man in the painting "the man with the golden helmet"?

Rembrandt signed Rembrandt F1655
Saria (10/27/2013)
I purchased this painting a couple years ago. A painting that reads The Artist son Titus on a gold metal at the bottom center of the painting. It's also has the signature Rembrandt f1655 in the upper left corner. It also has a paper tag attached on the back that says Turner Manufacturing Company...the company that framed this painting. Really beautiful painting how can I find out more info or possible value. Thanks

Rembrandt's "St. Matthew and the Angel"
Misty Johnson (05/09/2012)
I have a reproduction of St. Matthew and the Angel that I bought from an antique mall in Kansas City, MO. I want to know if anybody out there knows when the original was cleaned, or IF it's been cleaned because even though ALL brush strokes match the one hanging in the Louvre, it's a great deal darker in color than the one in the louvre, (and not the sort of darkening caused by time) so my thoughts are, it has to be some sort of print made before the cleaning was done. My greatest concern is possibly destroying value if I have it re-framed... because the framers mark that's on it tells me it's been in that frame since at least 1962. Anybody know??? I can't find anything on it on the web!

The Man with the Golden Helmet
Cathy (12/29/2009)
I have an oil painting that has the name Kenneth Lee? in the right hand corner scrolled in red. This is obviously a reproduction but was wondering if anyone has come across another . The frame is made of cherry or some sort of other red wood. It is carved and has gold painted accenting. Dimensions are 20X24 oil on canvas. Any information would be welcome.

I too have a painting with a signature on the back of the frame with a number beside it. What does that mean? Can anyone help me? It is a great piece of art.

rembrandt piece entitle "Titus in a Red Cap and a Gold Chain"
Donna (04/11/2009)
I have a small framed piece of art that has a formal label on the back of the frame that says "Titus in a Red Cap and a Gold Chain" and below that the words "1657 The Wallace Collection London"...It was definitely framed some time ago as the paper on the back is very browned and brittle. Written on the browned paper is handwritten "acquired 1966 auction of Dr Cherbourne and Imogene Carpenter National City, CA" then further down is handwritten "Rembrandt's son by Rembrandt"....CAN ANYONE TELL ME ANYTHING ABOUT THIS PIECE..PLEASE EMAIL ME IF YOU CAN SHED SOME LIGHT....THANK YOU SO MUCH

How to tell if you have a real Rembrandt painting
Heather Graham (01/04/2009)
I have a copy of the Rembrandt painting The Golden Helmet and I am wondering how to tell if it is real or if it is a fake? I believe it has the number 364 on the back on the painting.

Rembrandt Landscape ~ oil on Canvas ~
Cherriez (12/28/2008)
Looking for information or direction I can take to authenticate a Rembrandt painting. This painting is dated but is very hard to determine exactness (possibly 1656/86?). A signature is visible (very faint/distorted on right) but in closer study using a loop "Rembrant" is present. Canvas is totally painted in a cream tone to the edge. Painting is done in fine layers with some areas scraped. Rembrandt's signature monogram is added in this picture above a firepit(an illusion made to look as tree branches). When viewing sideways RHL is written in a downward direction. The "R" itself loops around & is very apparent in the paint. Another "R" is scraped into the paint around the moon which can be seen in shadowed lighting. When looking closely at the painting & in appropriate can see many signatures, almost as if the canvas was signed prior to the art & with age are starting to show. There are other intriguing details ~ words written in strokes of paint..etc I've done some searches but havent been able to come up with any straight answers. I know I need to find a qualified appraiser for this piece but what should I do prior to that.. if anything? Get it notorized.. things I can do to protect myself as well as the art itself.. Any info would be of great help.. Thank you

Glenn Minnesma (12/23/2008)

Carla McDonnell (11/01/2008)

Old Man in Red Cap
Dianna Kubacki (05/11/2008)
I have a print of an old man sitting with a stick of some kind in his left hand. He is wearing a red tall cap (possibly like a knit cap, not a hat) This is in a frame with paper on back and with it sealed we cant see the sig. There is a sticker from Leasch fine arts saying title: Old man in red cap. Artist: Rembrandt. I have looked at all the Rembrandt sites and cant find this print?? Any info will be appreciated, thanks

Ruth Y. Wingard (02/19/2008)
The Old Master I have has been out of circulation for going on 100 yrs. It is a self portrate of Rembrandt. Very dark and needs cleaning. Very think crackled mastic coating. Approximately 22 x 29. Done on fine linen. Would like to know where I can find out it's age and origin. Possible worth. In 6" black satin frame. Have not taken it out of backing to check for any markings. Front too dark to find signature. Dressed in Baret and fur coat.

Millennium Series
PRF (07/04/2007)
I have 'The Raising of Lazarus' created from the original blocks in what was called the 'Millennium Series'. No gallery I know of can tell me anything about it. Any ideas where I can find more information and possible worth?

Man with Golden Helmet
Juliet Grossman (04/16/2007)
I just obtained a painting "Man with Golden Helmet", copied of course, and was wondering what its value is. I did some research and I understand that they have discovered it is not a Rembrandt (though Rembrandt is imprinted on the back in the wood) but still a very famous work of art. I know it was purchased in Germany but I am not sure when. I have a picture I can e-mail of the front and back. Thanks!
