Loving the arts at a very early age, I was always taken back by the beautiful landscapes of the mountains, forest and flowers. I guess coming from Canada it was embedded in me at a very young age. Drawing and painting were the things I liked to do. From the age of 12 to 36 I never picked up a paint brush or a drawing pencil. At 36 I decided I would like to take a drawing class at the Santa Rosa Junior College and I was astounded at what I was able to draw. I then began to teach myself to paint in oils. I found it very rewarding and easy for me. Moving to Colorado in 1978 I continued to paint. A gentleman who had seen me painting came to me asked if he could pay for my lessons and transportation. With that I studied under Lloyd Thorsten for over a year, then took classes from Quang Ho, Joseph Boehler and studied at the Arts Students League, Denver, and a class at Colorado Institute of Art. Years of teaching myself and passionately painting some days for as long as 18 hours, I finally developed my own style and designed my own pallet knives. This has allowed me to create a three dimensional painting. I paint very large for the most part as my collectors love the drama I am able to create. Largest painting was a 120X120. Known for my dramatic Aspen and larger than life flower paintings, now at the age of 74, and the last leg of my journey, I hope to leave a legacy, by being able to show my work in Museums.
