This biography from the Archives of AskART:
| Born in Knoxville, Iowa, Arlo Acton earned a BA from Washington State University and an MFA from the California Institute of Arts. He has also taught at the University of California Berkeley and lived in North San Juan.
His work alternates between small spheres with tubular extensions and more classically geometric pieces. In the early 1970s, he abandoned his career to join hippies in Northern California.
