| A Lakota Sioux Indian tribe member and the great, great grandson of
Chief Standing Bear, Arthur Amiotte devotes his artwork,
research, writing and teaching to relating the story of his
people. "Amiotte practices the Lakota custom of using art to
convey personal and familial narrative, aspects of ceremony and tribal
inconography, and cultural and social observtions." He uses oil,
acrylic, watercolor, fiber, fabric, glass beads and mixed media to
