Bidjan Assadipour was born October 12, 1946 in the village of Abkenar near the port of Anzali by the Caspian Sea, Iran. Still a child, he moved with his family to Tehran where Assadipour began his artistic activity at a very young age and held his first exhibition in the hall of their house. Soon he began contributing sketches and cartoons to Tofiq, a very popular Iranian cartoon and satire magazine.
