Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Calvin Albert became a sculptor in bronze, terra cotta and other metals, an educator and painter. He was especially known for his Abstract Expressionist sculpture created from metal allow he developed.
In Grand Rapids, Calvin Albert was a student of Otto Karl Bach at the Grand Rapids Art Gallery. He also studied in Chicago at the Art Institute, the Institute of Design with Moholy-Nagy and Gyorgy Kepes and at the Archipenko School of Sculpture with Alexander (showing 500 of 1171 characters). |
