This biography from the Archives of AskART:
Born in London, England of American parents on July 8, 1907.  The Ginno family settled in Berkeley, CA in 1910.  Elizabeth studied art at Mills College, CCAC, CSFA, and with John Winkler whom she married in 1949.  While working with her husband, she became a skilled etcher.  Mrs. Winkler was active as an artist until her demise in El Cerrito, CA on Dec. 9, 1991.  Her paintings include Indian life in the Southwest, landscapes, florals, and abstractions. 

Member:  SFAA; Calif. Society of Etchers (pres.); SF Women Artists; Calif. Society of PM. 

Exh:  GGIE, 1939 (etching); Gump's (SF); Kennedy Gallery (NY); Oakland Museum; AIC; Richmond Art Center; NAD.  In:  De Young Museum; Mills College (Oakland); CSL; Library of Congress; CPLH.
